My husband's grandfather was Jasper Barnes who lived at one time in Union County. I was told he was in the 1910 Union County census but can't pull this up on the computer. His wife then was Susie Logan, children Hillard, Lovella, Bobbie and Homer. We were told they came from N.C. around Mt. Mitchell but are not sure. All the census I have found list his parents and himself as coming from N.C. His first wife was Elizabeth Boone or some say Harriett Louise Boone. In the 1920 census he list his birthday as 1851 and in the 1930 census he list it as 1844. More of his children were Mary Baskie, William Basscom, Minnie and Marcie. Some of the Barnes still live around Blairsville. If anyone had any information on this family especially where Jasper came from or his mother and father's name I would really appreciate it.
