They were once again enumerated in Madison County, North Carolina, Upper Laurel Township - page 133. Family/household numbers are missing in 1880, but Jasper's mother-in-law, Elizabeth Boon, is shown in Jasper's household. His wife' name remains a mystery, because she was enumerated as Luesey (Louisa?) in 1880. Two doors away is enumerated William and Elender Barns, aged 56 and 51, both born in NC. I suspect that they were Jasper's parents, but have not been able to find them in 1860 or 70 North Carolina census in order to confirm. I hope this little bit helps - sorry it isn't more. Barnes and an Ellen Barnes, along with some other folks.
