Hello Everyone, I am looking for information on James Wiley Mathis. James was born around 1860 to Daniel Mathis and Amy Hood. He married Sarah Rosetta Akins in Union County. He and Sarah had 7 children all of which were born in Union County. The last of the child was born in 1908 and after the birth James left Sarah alone with the children and moved away. Sarah later moved with the children to Rome, Floyd Co., GA. However it seems that James simply disappeared. I would appreciate any information that anyone may have on James or his ancestors. Randy I have a third great aunt that married William Mathis and had a son Daniel born abt 1813 that married Amy.I can tell you about his Mother and her siblings and parents.But can't help you with James.If you would like to know that I'm sure willing to share.I haven't done much on the Mathis side because never could hook up with anyone coming down from any of the kids. They was a Homer Mathis in Gilmer County ,He would have been born in 190-something.And to the best of my knowledge his daddy was James.But I think his mother was a Stover.I will have to double check to be sure.
