    2. JEAN JONES: I waited around to see if someone answered you, but it is now in the late afternoon, so I decided that I would answer you the best I could. I do not live in Union County, GA now, but I grew up there. There is a great deal of history you can find on the web site for Union County at the following web site address: < www.rootsweb.com/~gaunion >. I would say that the migration was into Union County during the early 1800s. My people came to Union County from North Carolina between 1825 and 1834. However, after the Civil War (about 1864) people began to move out of Georgia into Texas. It was hard times after the Civil War and people were going west to get away from the "hard times." I expect the tax records would be located at the County Court House in Blairsville, GA (the County Seat). I hope you have success in your search.
