Does anyone know anything about a "Legal Tender Gold Mine" in or near Union Co? It is mentioned in the will of one of my Union Co ancestors, Thomas M. Hughes.
I don't know where it is. But I will see if I can find it for you. Many of my ancestors came from that area. David... Give the Union County Historical Society a call (706-745-5493) or e-mail them at history1@alltel.net and see if they can provide you with an answer. I'll bet Dale Elliott would be able to tell you about the gold mines in the Union County area, and maybe he'll even know something about the Legal Tender Gold Mine. What does the will that you have say in reference to it and when was the will probated? Hope this helps you! ----- Original Message ----- From: <dboeh@comcast.net> To: <GAUNION-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, February 11, 2004 6:35 PM Subject: [GAUNION] Legal Tender Gold Mine > Does anyone know anything about a "Legal Tender Gold Mine" in or near Union Co?
