    3. I doubt if that would be possible. Old cemeteries were usually family plots or church cemeteries. Until very recently no burial records were usually kept by the families or the churches. -----Original Message----- From: Bmore286@aol.com [mailto:Bmore286@aol.com] Sent: Friday, October 03, 2003 11:52 AM To: GAUNION-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [GAUNION] Re: GAUNION-D Digest V03 #78 The Union County Cemetary Book is excellent; however, it only lists gravesites with marked headstones. It is not an accurate record of the actual burials for the cemetaries in Union County. I know that most of my GA ancestors are buried in Union County Cemetaries, but they are not listed in the book because their markers were wooden instead of stone. Wooden markers disintegrate; thereby leaving an "unmarked" grave. I would like to see a book listing official burial records instead of a survey of marked gravesites. ==== GAUNION Mailing List ==== NOTICE: Posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political/religious statements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc. (in other words - spam) is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal.
