Some of my Union Co Stewarts married Odums in Graham Co NC in the 1880's. Your grandfather share his name with two of our Union County Stewarts. Noah Washington Stewart, son of Noah born in 1785 lived in Union Co and died in the Civil War. He had a newphew, son of his brother Isam Stewart who was named Lafayette Stewart.
