    3. CAT and others, I have some questions about David THOMPSON and Nancy RIDER. It was assumed in some genealogy materal I received that Nancy died because of David THOMPSON taking a 2nd wife. The Cherokee (Nancy RIDER was Cherokee) divorced rather easily, the wife simply chose to put his stuff outside and it was done. There maybe no record of a divorce....but my question is: Does anyone know of a divorce record of David THOMPSON and wife Nancy RIDER? I also would like to know if Nancy RIDER THOMPSON is the same Nancy with a son Joel on the 1850 Census ? if so, some of these children are not listed as children of David....but probably are. I'm looking for a connection to my Eliz. b 1827 NC (probably md. a son of David). I am hopeful some of the children of David and Nancy are missed in some genealogy records. can anyone step up and help?
