Does anyone know Dianne Ramsey Miller's email address would love to see if she is connected to my great aunt Mary Jane Warlick that married William Ramsey and had a child named Roxie Ramsey that married Glen Coy Martin. Dorothy... To get an idea of where Lower Young Cane is in relation to the county, check out the Union County website http://www.rootsweb.com/~gaunion/ and scroll down to where it says "Union County District Map" and the "Union County Highway Map". Dorothy From the red light at KFC and McDonalds on 515 w. turn left at the Chamber of Commerce this is old 76. Go past Sears on the left and continue about 5 miles until you see the Jones Creek Voting building at the intersection of Jones Creek Rd. and 76 the that area is known as Lower Young Cane. Another longer route from the red light above continue on 515- 4 lane west to the "Shell Station" on the right and turn left then to the next intersection old 76 turn left the voting district is about 3 miles ahead on your right. jim ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dorothy Brewer" <casper04@bellsouth.net> To: <GAUNION-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, June 10, 2004 11:36 PM Subject: [GAUNION] Lower Young Cane District > Hello could someone send me directions from Blairsville GA. to Lower Young Cane in Union County Dorothy > > > ==== GAUNION Mailing List ==== > NOTICE: Posting of virus warnings, test messages, chain letters, political/religious statements, current events, items for sale, personal messages, flames, etc. (in other words - spam) is NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Hello could someone send me directions from Blairsville GA. to Lower Young Cane in Union County Dorothy
DEBBIE WOOLF: That < www.ancestraldesigns.com > was a copyrighted creation of CAROL ANN TINDELL "C.A.T." She had grave sites and most of the census records under that address. I obtained a great deal of information from it while it was on there, but for some reason in the year 2002 she removed it and this new group took over, but they do not have as much information as "C.A.T." did. I never did find out why she took it off the Internet for UNION COUNTY and surrounding counties. The last e-mail I had from "C.A.T." was dated Tuesday, November 2, 2002 where she attached the huge file on the 1850 census for Union County. Her e-mail address on that last e-mail was < cat@tds.net >. I do not know if it is her current address now. I am sending a copy of this e-mail to that address to see if she responds. This is for your information and I hope it helps. BENNY COLLINS; "BO" CONLEY; JOE DILLARD; TONYA KRAYNAK; PRESLEY RICH; CAROLYN SAMS (Murphy); and MARY TWIGGS: I am forwarding the e-mail shown below to each of you. If any of you can help Rose Birdwell in making cemetery surveys in the Blairsville/Murphy area, get in touch with her at her e-mail address shown in her message. You won't get paid, but you might have some fun doing these surveys. She makes pictures of each headstone in a cemetery and then posts the cemetery on the Internet. She has made several of these surveys in Union County and surrounding counties. You people are the only ones I have on my mailing list that live in Union County and Murphy. If I lived closer I would volunteer, but I am pretty old to be thrashing around in cemeteries. But I am 240 miles away, living in Charlotte, NC, so I cannot be much help to Rose. Ancestry.com provides a very large database of FREE genealogy information. They also provide a very large. but seperate, database that they charge for. They have transcribed many books, journals, newspapers, etc that we would never be able to ordinarilly see. They have to PAY people to do this for them. It is not free to them. It only stands to reason that they should recover hteir costs from the people who benefit from their investment. Accusing them for charging for their service is like getting mad at your local car dealer for not giving you a car free. What they get for free - you get for free. What they have to pay for - you have to pay for. Where's the problem?
