    3. Carolina, You have mentioned names of WOODY, GARRETT, MAGNESS, and THOMASSON. I have a Bunc./Burke Co. LONG Line md. into CANSLER. The CANSLERS have WOODY marraige, and later lines of both md. into GARRETT and MAGNESS. All collateral for me but if you have a huge interest I can direct you to view a LONG site with it. My direct interest however is THOMPSON. I am looking for an unknown husband of Elizabeth b abt 1827 NC, lived with James LONG b 1800 NC and Uly CANSLER b abt 1805 NC. James and Uly md. 1827 Burke Co. NC, so Eliz. was either a "premie" (haha) or from another marriage (quick remarraige ??).....or she is not a LONG at all (but I was told that by a living great granddau. BEFORE I found her with the LONGs, so I assume she is a LONG). Found her in 1850 with James, then missing in 1860, back in 1870 with more THOMPSON children, not found yet in 1880. I Keep hoping to locate her in 1860 and 80, or her children, but so far nothing. NO marraige found for her in NC or GA, nothing over in TN. I have not yet found anything at all to gain her husband's name. Is there anything that might connect to your THOMASSON ? thanks, DEBBIE -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Wednesday, June 28, 2000 9:40 PM Subject: Re: [GAUNION] Fw: Children's name needed >In a message dated 6/28/00 12:07:47 PM Eastern Daylight Time, >[email protected] writes: > ><< > > George W. 3. Gee Carolyn, you don't happen to know who Tobias Woody's parents were do you. I am trying to fill in the Woody line. Also If anyone by chance has the Caldwell part of that information??? I have David Caldwell from North Carolina, he was a wagonmaker and is on the census records living with son Joseph David Caldwell and his wife Sarah Disharoon Caldwell. Next door is Meredith Caldwell another son and our link, with his wife Winnie Ovaline Woody Caldwell. Then I guess Union County split and the next time they are listed in the Yahoola Dist. of Lumpkin County. 3. Posted on: Union Co. GA Query Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ga/Union?read=570 Surname: FAIR, WHITE ------------------------- Looking for Union County List contacts who may know of the marriages of WILLIAM WHITE's and RACHEL BRACKETT's daughters. SARAH married my G/GF CHARLES FAIR; ARMINDA married ARCHIBALD FAIR, Charles' nephew. That leaves LUTHARA, LUCINDA, MARY, RACHEL, CINDA and MARTHA (1870 Census). William's will named a "FENNY" WHITE (one who may not have married) and a LOU CARROLL. Beyond that, I have no info. Any help out there. Also, I'm still looking for a TABITHA ???? who married Charles & Sarah's oldest son, WILLIAM. They are both on the 1900 Providence Church roster but she is listed as TABITHA FAIR. I have checked all Union County Census data that is currently available but have yet to find a TABITHA in any household. Would appreciate any help here too.

    3. Have you traced your Dockery's pre Buncombe Co? If not, they may come from Spartanburg S.C. My reasoning is thus: I descend from a large Gilbert/Littlefield Clan that lived in Spartanburg. In the 1820's & 30's groups from this clan moved to both Buncombe Co. N.C. and and N.E. Alabama (primarily St. Clair Cos). Going with the Gilberts to Alabama was a family of Dockery's which intermarried with the Gilberts. Also in the 1830's an Arthur Gilbert moved to Union Co. Ga. He was also from the above Spartanburg clan and a first cousin (we have his father as Mark Gilbert, son of Daniel Gilbert Sr.) of those in Buncombe and Alabama. So, perhaps your Dockerys are related to those who intermarried with the Alabama Gilberts. Perhaps they moved with the other Gilberts to Buncombe. Just a lead. Hope it works out. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Wednesday, June 28, 2000 12:39 PM Subject: [GAUNION] Re: Children's name needed >Daniel W. 2. Jean, Its John who married Z.F. Gaddis according to my records. My grandmother's grandmother was a Clemments or Clemmons. Martha A. Clements (John's sister) m William Henry Galloway Rebecca Galloway m John Asbury Everett Myrtle L. Everett m J G Mason On the weekends and most summers I live on Bud Mason Road at the foot of Peter Young Mountain. I will ask my cousins about the Gaddis and McCollums and see if they know anything. Michelle [email protected] wrote: > To Amason and Michelle-- One of you says Z.F. Gaddis married William Riley Clemons and the other say Z. F. married John Clemons. Which is correct?????? I know where the McCollums lived on the Mulkey Gap mountain. They were my Great-Grandparents. Amandaell's father Archibald died sometime around 1885. He wrote a card to one of his daughters in 1885 telling her to come quickly to see him that he was "Sick to Death". I have been able to find some living descendants of everyone of this McCollum family except Amandaell and Isaac.
