Joseph Monroe and Naomi Adaline Hayes had 10 children one of which was James Madison Thomas. He married Mary Eva Caldwell whose parents were John Moody and Margaret Emmalissi Stancil Caldwell. John Moody Caldwell's parents were Meredith B. and Winnie Ovaline Woody Caldwell. The Woody line is mostly from Lumpkin County, but also listed as Union County prior to the county splitting. You'll see references to Woody Gap, Suches being in both counties. Glad to help out. My Wm. W Dockery died in the 1932 according to his marker at the Crossroads Cemetery in Gilmer Co., Ga. I could understand having different dates closed together in the 1851 or 54 or 56, but I can only go by the date on the marker . Thanks for looking and please keep an eye out for me. Does anyone have information on these marriages? Talton Woodde and Leuany Bare Henry Woody and Elizabeth Bare. F. M. Woody and Millie Barr. Calvin Woody and Amanda Bare. I found these on some NC site, but don't remember which one. Copied them off as they appeared, (spelling). Would love to have the dates, and any info. on these marriages, or the site address. Thanks,
Michelle, Presume you are asking about Tabitha Fair. She and her husband, William P. Fair, are buried at Bearpaw Church Cemetery over in Cherokee County. I have a picture of the gravestone--it simply says "Mrs W.P. Fair" so no help there. As regards the question on the parents of Rachel Brackett, another List contact said they were Morgan Brackett and Mary Amanda Walker but there is no relationship with William and Tabitha Fair that I know of. There are many Bracketts (including Morgan) and a few Walker's on that 1900 Providence Church Roster. My strong presumption is that Tabitha has to be in a household near the home of Charles Fair and Sarah White (William's parents) but there is no 1890 Census to check for a marriage by then. William was born in 1866; Tabitha in 1871. [email protected] wrote: > Roy, > Do you think she might be buried at Providence? > If so, I can look for you this weekend. The Family History Center in Salt Lake has microfilmed many marriage records in Union County, GA from 1833-1933. They have several films--since you don't give a time period, I didn't know which film you would be interested in. You can search the library catalog in 2 ways. One, on the Family Search program at your nearest Family History Center and two, online at: http://familysearch.org/Search/searchcatalog.asp I work at our Family History Center so let me know if you need more help.
