    3. I am trying to locate the grave site of Priscilla Sutton who married Rev. William A Ellis 2-24-1842 in Union County. The 1850 census shows them in Gilmer County with 2 daughters, 7 and 2. By the 1860 Census he was remarried to Elizabeth Head in Fannin Cty. Priscilla Ellis died between 1850 and 1860 and cannot be found in either Gilmer or Fannin Counties Cemeteries. Two Cemeteries in Union County show the surname "ELLIS". Since Rev. Ellis was a Baptist Minister, I am grabbing at two straws: Oak Grove Baptist Church in Dooly District or Thomas Chapel in Ivy Log District. Can someone tell me is she is one of those Ellis buried in either Cemetery? Or if you are connected to the Sutton or Ellis Families, Do you have any information as to the 2 daughters. We misplaced them between the 2nd marriage of Rev. Ellis and the 3rd Marriage in Coulhoun Cty, AL. 3. Carol, look for HYDE as well. The HYDES were in Burke/Bunc. CO. NC and then later several of the WEST NC counties, such as Swain, Macon, Jackson, Clay, ect. I do have an email addy for a cousin (with LEATHERWOODs) who has HYDES married into her lines. I'm not a direct HYDE descendant myself but perhaps she can be of help. Email me if you'd like to exchange with her. -----Original Message----- From: Carol McAlister <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Tuesday, July 11, 2000 5:59 PM Subject: [GAUNION] McAlister and Hite families >Posted on: Union Co. 3. Hi Eddie and Michelle, I know I am pushing my luck, Michelle, but if I could get a copy also, I would be very grateful and over course reimburse you. Eddie, have you heard from Stevie Lou Powell recently? If you do would you please tell her that Elizabeth Brackett who married Meriday Queen and lived in Union, is daughter of Felix Brackett who moved from Rutherford Co, NC, to Habersham Co. Another researcher has found the marriage record and also Meriday and Elizabeth Brackett's names on Felix's deed record. He is sending me a copy. Also, I have information for the person that was inquiring for David Brackett b c1830, son of Morgan and Mary Amanda Walker. I just haven't had the time to sit down and send it. But, David Brackett and Nicey are in the 1880 census, so he probably passed away before the 1900 census. When the 1900 C is online we can determine more. I will send more info later on David. I descend from David's brother Thomas and Mary Queen Brackett. Eddie, are you going to the Providence Reunion this year. I think Bill Walker and Maylon maybe going. Also, Bill's Walker Book is almost ready. 3. Hi Don-- Thanks for the site update. I visited your site to check out the book--nice work. I visit from time to time to look at Woody documents. A query for you: In January 1939, a man named "Dallis Woody," helped a monument company locate the Fannin County, GA, grave of W.S. Murray (my gg-grandfather) so that W.S. Murray's son, E.A. Murray of Fletcher, Oklahoma could place the tombstone there. W.S. Murray died 1877, so this Dallis Woody probably would have been an adult or young adult in 1877 (to remember the gravesite so many years later). Maybe Dallis was related to the Murrays, possibly through the Woody who married a Petty. Does this Dallis Woody ring a bell with you? --D.K.
