    3. Jim, your great grandfather has a grand son named , I guess , after him, he was Hubbard <Hilliard> Gaddis' born in 1858 son, he was a Vet, and also treated people, this was told to us by his g.grandson from Ky. I am not trying to confuses people. He was born in Lumpkin Co. and moved into Gilmer Co. Ga. The people who has mail me this has it down in a bible. That is one thing about making is so hard to find some of these people in the Gaddis Family, so many are named the same name but in different generations. Right now we are getting new information nearly every day, so we have not bee able to put this on the Family Tree program yet. ..Oh yes, the Isham that you mentioned is the Uncle of the James I have mentioned, the brother of James 's father. 2. I also have what I think was a NICHOLSON from Polk County, my notes on her are following? Granny had 15 children from notes of Willard Graham who lived at Hanging dog Nc. Granny Link, as she was known lived to be 120 years old. The Knoxville newspaper did a write up on her and said that these facts were well documented by the family Bible. I have copied the article below I have her death certificate which says that she died in Reliance Polk Co TN. Her father is listed on the death certificate, however it is illegible. I believe that it says Nicholson is the last name, the best I can tell his first name ends in ton. Something like Erniston, Clinton. The burial was at Hampton cemetery. Family stories say that she lived close to Prospect church in the Hanging Dog Community and was buried at Pine Dexter Cemetary in NC. Some said she was affiliated with Coker Creek Baptist church. Someone else said they thought she was buried in Polk co NC. Some said she lived so long that she recieved her 2nd eyesight. She lived some of her latter years with her grandson Frank in Polk Co TN. She spoke "Dutch" German? and wore a little hat and cape. She lived in Cherokee Co, Violet, Hanging Dog Community NC before she went to live with her kids. Some of her children's names were: Margaret-who lived to be 107. She was a certified midwife and went as far as Dayton Ohio to deliver babies. She is proably the oldest person living in the United States and the family records preserved for more than a century thoroughly authenticate the date of her birth. She was born in Cherokee County, North Carolina, December 16, 1802. In the early years of her life she married a man named Smith and after his death she was married to Link. All other members of the family are dedceased except one daughter, who is an octogenarian, according to Z. Y. Long, a traveling man of Heiskell, Tennl, who recently saw Mrs. Link. Mr. Long said the venerable woman enjoys the distinction of having never taken a dose of medicine in her life. About nine years ago her eyes failed, and she is now unable to see. Her hearing also became affected, and she is almost deaf. Otherwise she is said to be in good physical condition considering her age. She eats three meals every day and can walk with ease, but most of the time she needs assistance in walking any distance. While traveling in Monroe county, Mr. Long heard of Mrs. Link and traveled several miles out of his course to meet her. Mrs. Link is known to most people in the community where she lives as "Aunt Sallie Smith." She was the mother of seven children, but all of them have passed away except the daughter who is now nearly 90 years of age. Owing to defective hearing, Mr. Long said he could not ask the aged woman concerning the early events of her remarkable life.

    3. Just returned after being gone for nearly 3 weeks, so please excuse the late response to your message (below in full). regarding Hannah Nicholson and Samuel Morgan, you wrote: "...Mary Ann Marcella (my GGM) who married James Lafayette Davis around 1859 possibly in Union Co. GA or Polk Co.,TN. I know they were living in Polk Co. in 1860 along with Samuel and Hannah. " Can you give me census house numbers for them? I, and friends also had Nicholsons in 1860 Polk and we're trying to sort them between the lines of Isaac (1776?-1856?) and John (1763-1858) Nicholson, both of whom were in Union Co. Ga in the 1850's. Both lines were in 1860 Polk. I'm glad to know where Richard went. Do you know if he is related to any of the other three? 2. Can anyone help me with the Twiggs Families found in the 1850 Union County Census? I am trying to find a link between my 2nd Great Grandmother, Sarah Twiggs Brown and the sons of Timothy Twiggs who moved to Union County. Sarah was born in NC about 1823, I believe she could possibly be a daughter of William Twiggs. Does anyone have a list of his children? I think I have ruled out Willis Twiggs as her father, due to the age of his wife. Sarah Twiggs married John S. Brown, Jr. in Union Co. on September 3, 1842. 3. Thanks for the input. Given Betty Knight's response to my posting and your input, I can see how George Fair's family could be confused (and that prolific crowd has many of them to be confused). I've carried the name in my FAIR family research as CALDWELL for years but my inclination now to change it to COLWELL. I've already picked up your point about FAIN/FAIR. Per my input, Cat Tindell has since corrected FAIN to FAIR in my G/GF Charles Fair's 1880 Union County LYC household (171).
