I'm going to be making a trip to Union County shortly to attempt to gather more information about my gg grandfather, Bennett Smith. I have not seen his name mentioned in the cemetery records, and it would be great to find his grave. Bennett owned about 130 acres in the 10th district, first section, parts of lots 99 and 100. He left this land to his second wife, Eliza Gilreath Smith and a son, Andrew Smith. between 1894 and 1900. Eliza is buried in the Gilreath Cemetery, and Andrew is buried in OK. Would anyone know of a small family plot in this area that might contain some Smiths? Thanks for your help. Leslie Martin

I thought she was off Edward M. LEATHERWOOD's line, he was in 1850 Union, then in Catoosa and Whitfield Co's. Someone recently informed me that Edward is in 1880 MS and that his dau. Sarah was still at home. IF so, then the one I was thinking of was md., and so it most likely is not the right line.
