I haven't posted this in a long time; so, hopefully, someone new will know the answer. My great grandfather, IRA E. HAM, is on the 1850 census of Twiggs County with his mother Olly (Kelly) HAM and his brothers and sisters, Ruffin, Samantha, William, and Virginia. (His father Archibald died about 1847.) Ira E. Ham then disappears for 30 years. He finally shows up on the 1880 census of Cass County, Texas, and then I have him on each census until his death in 1921. He did not appear to be in the Civil War although he would have been an appropriate age. His mother may have died prior to 1860 but he is not found anywhere in 1860 or 1870. Does anyone know anything about this family? There were other Hams in Twiggs during this time frame and before, at least since 1830. I suspect they could have been related. If you are a Ham from Twiggs I would love to hear from you. Thanks. Janiece Keener Houston, Texas
