Carrie White Williams Carrie White Williams -ROUND OAK - Mrs. Carrie White Williams, 103, of Round Oak, died Saturday, April 20, 2002. Funeral service will be held at 11A.M,, Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at Sunshine United Methodist Church in Round Oak with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. John Haney will officiate. -Mrs. Williams, a lifetime resident of Jones County, was born in Round Oak. She was the daughter of the late George Benjamin and Mary Frances King White and was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Candler Williams and son John Thomas Williams. Mrs. Williams was a graduate of G.N.I.C. (now Georgia College and State University). She taught school for twenty-two years in Round Oak and was the adult Sunday School teacher and pianist for Sunshine United Methodist Church for many years. Mrs. Williams was a member of Gray United Methodist Church. She was also a member and past regent of Oliver Morton Chapter D.A.R. and an honorary member of Gray Garden Club and Pilot Cub. Mrs. Williams is the author of History of Jones County and History of Greene County. -She is survived by daughter, Mary Ann Hamrick, Gray and daughter and son-in-law: Carolyn W. Harris and Frank Harris, Griffin; grandchildren and spouses: John W. Hamrick, Gray, Anne Hamrick Trawick and Jim Trawick, Macon, Carl and Beth Hamrick, Gray, Caroline Harris Tye and Pearce Tye, Griffin, Emily Harris Parker and Robert Parker, Griffin; great-grandchildren: Candler Trawick, Bo Trawick, Miller Hamrick, Maribeth Hamrick, Mary Lauren Hamrick, Kady Hamrick, McCay Tye, Harrison Tye, Carrie Tye, Benjamin Parker and Thomas Parker. -The family request that in lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Carl Williams Cemetery Fund, c/o Charlotte Wilson, 2267 Monticello Hwy, Round Oak, GA 31038 or Gray United Methodist Church Building Fund, Box 415, Gray, GA 31032. -The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00P.M. Thank you for sending this obit. While I cannot identify with the White's there are also Parkers in her family and I would be interested in them. But, foremost, is the Rev. John Haney. My very biggest brick wall is my GGgrandmother Edith Haney White.(aka Eda/Ada) February 07, 1841 she married E. A. White in Thomas Co. Ga. and that is absolutely all I know about her. There was a John Haney on the 1830 census of Thomas Co., but he had two males in the household. Is there anyone on this list researching Haney that might know anything at all about My GGgrandmother.
