This is proved by deeds of Telfair Co GA which name Luke Bozeman as the heir of Mary Ward, widow of David of Jefferson Co GA. David Ward, Jr. was apparently the grandson (less likely, the son) of David Ward, Sr. (1715/1730 - after 1775) who lived in Tyrrell & Halifax Co NC. David was the son off John Ward, Sr. who died in Tyrrell Co NC in 1750. Elizabeth's mother Mary Ward is probably the daughter of Jacob Wyatt who died in 1761 in Halifax Co NC. Jacob was the son of James Wyatt, Sr., who still lived in 1761. This connection is probable, but not conclusively proved. I would like more information on Luke & Elizabeth Bozeman, if you have any. Incidentally, I don't think many white people lived in what is now present-day Twiggs County GA during the 1790s, as this region was then controlled by the Creek nation. Luke Bozeman lived in Jefferson Co GA near his father-in-law David Ward in 1796 and probably before that in Burke or Washington Counties. Luke left Jefferson about 1798 and moved to Montgomery Co GA. He still lived in Montgomery County in 1806, but about 1807 or 1808 he moved into the new Wilkinson County (acquired by Georgia from the Creeks in 1802/1805). Luke settled in the portion of Wilkinson that became Twiggs County when the Georgia legislature formed it on 14 Dec 1809
