Your Wrote: Does anyone have a map of the 28th district land lottery plots? I am looking for lot 221 in the 28th district. My gggGrandfather won this lot in the 1807 land lottery when he was living in Burke County. I have a copy of the original land grant that he registered in 1810. He ended up living in Laurens county but I am trying to figure out if he ever lived in Twiggs County. His name was John Clark which makes tracking him very difficult. His wife was Amelia Sikes and he probably had two children at the time he would have been in Twiggs County -- Nancy and Calphrey. appreciate any help. Sandy slsamz@aol.com Answer: I have a land map from 1988 Twiggs County. My understanding is that the districts and land lots never changed. You may want to confirm this with someone else on the list. My map is showing that Land District 28 borders a portion of bibb and houston counties going east from the Ocmulgee River to a portion of Liberty Church Road, Georgia Kaolin Rd, going south to apporximately where New Mt. Zion Church is located. GMD 323. In other words if you don't have a map of any kind to look at, Land District 28 was in the NW section of Twiggs County. Now my map shows lot 221 as being the 2nd lot over from the Ocmulgee River. The section of Ocmulgee River where the border of Bibb and Houston is. My map shows a stream "Stone stream" running through lot 221 north to south on the property. Hope this is helpful. If I am wrong someone on the list please help. Pat
