Cecil, I understand what you are saying. Trouble is I have some folks who have told me that he lived in Twiggs County -- some even tried to convince me that the land he won was in the section of Wilkinson County that became Laurens County. I have proved that this is not true. He finally settled in Laurens County below Dublin on the Oconee River. I just don't think he ever lived in Twiggs County. He shows up in Laurens County about 1810 or so. I am told that if I contact the Twiggs County Tax Office they would be able to tell me who has owned that land over the years. I thought their Court House burned so felt like those old recrods would not be available. Do you know?
