Sandy, the courthouse burned in 1901, and all records before that were burned, some ppl brought their deeds to the courthouse and re-recorded theirs, but there were very few that did. I will look back thru some of my old census records and see if their names are listed. I think that it was in 1809 that Twiggs County was created from Wilkinson.
