He died in 1843 a deacon in the Baptist Ch. wife Sarah. I thought his full name might be Obdiah Robert Belcher (a guess). My ggGrandfather was Woody Belcher born in 1816 son of Robert. I believe this was by Robert's first wife (not sarah)? Woody stated he married Ellen Johnson of Ga. and Children born beginning in 1842 in Sabine Co. Republic of Texas. First son was named Robert. another son was named McCuin. An obvious link. Is there an indian link in your family tradition? Woody was trying to hide something so I believe he muddied the water concerning who his wife was and where she was from. I believe woody ran away from home when he was 14. VCB
