The land was formerly owned by the Nelson's and was a big plantation, the Ware's were their slaves. The Ware's still own the property which is now surrounded by Dry Branch Kaolin property. The old Nelson Cemetery with a bunch of Ware's buried around it is still the only remains. (The Nelson Home burned). The Ware's built a building there several years ago in which they used to hold family reunions. There are still some Ware's today in the Dry Branch area.
