I was wondering if any of you know anything about the Legislative acts of Georgia where some Cherokee people had gone to court to change names so that the could conform to the white society? What I am looking for is info on an Isabel Rogers whose name was changed to Isabel King to match her fathers, Charles King. This occured in 1825 and the mother was listed as Phoreba Rogers. Can court records be obtained and where can I go to research this? I would appreciate any help I can get. Thomas E.
