    3. I noticed on that detachment of Militia for Ft. Telfair for War of 1812 showed a Caleb McKinney - does anyone know if this is the same Caleb for whom McKinney Melton witnessed a power of atty in Edgefield Dist SC in 1808? Also mentioned in this power of atty was a Joseph. McKinney Melton came to Twiggs certainly before 1820, as well as Clem and William Melton. WIlliam D. Melton was still in Edgefield at the time of this deed of Dec 28, 1820 in which McKinney Melton and Clem Melton Sr witnessed William W. Melton of Twiggs County GA land to WIlliam D. Melton for $100.00 in Edgefield Dist SC (recorded of course in Edgefield Dist). Still searching for just what the connection is between McKinney Melton and Caleb McKinney, Joseph McKinney, Clem Melton Sr and Jr., William W. Melton and William D. Melton. William D. is said to be the son of WIlliam W. Melton. Thanks, Trish Elliott-Kashima, pkashima@lorettotel.net, Lawrenceburg, TN
