April 8, 1840 she was married to James Shine Miller. Of this union there were ten children, five of whom survive her, namely, Mrs. Ann Mercer, Mrs. W. J. Mercer, Mrs. Laura Barnett, Mrs. J. R. Pinson, and Mr. J. S. Miller; also their half sister, Mrs. M. E. Barksdale, survives to mourn her departure. There are twenty-five grandchildren and seventeen great- grandchildren living. She joined the Methodist Church July 20, 1842, and was converted on October 17, 1842, at a camp meeting in Jerffersonville, Twiggs County, Ga. From that time her life was one of rare saintliness and devotion to her Lord. She was ever found "fervent in spirit;" serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; distributing to the necessity of the saints; given to hospitality." would that we were all as faithful as was she. Even extreme age did not prevent her from attending her Church services. Just three weeks before she left us, she was in her place in the Church, listening to her pastor. What an inspiration to him--What a rebuke to the young and active. We shall miss her prayers, her counsel and her genial smiles, but our loss is her gain. We have only lost a very dear loved one, she has gained heaven. Her body was committed to the ground in Albany, Ga. by the side of her husband, who preceeded her to Heaven twenty-eight years ago. signed Her great grandson, S. C.
