    3. Yes, see below. Have corresponded with you before. Have your message of 5/8/03. My Quincey P. Bailey b. 1803 in Houston County, Ga., who was killed in the War, married Martha Melton. Quincey's father was Bryant Bailey b. 1806 and his father was Philip Bailey b. ca. 1770, place unknown. Have also determined that some of Philip's children were Lovecey (Lavissa, Louisa, etc.) b. 1793 in NC, Bryant b. 1806 in Ga. and John and Thomas b. 1806 in Ga. Can identify no NC connection for Philip and Lovecey Your post at the Twiggs County, Ga. Mailing List indicates you have a Twiggs connection and I have recently learned that my Baileys did as well. Have Philip on the 1818 Twiggs Tax Digest living next to a Williams Bailey whom the Ga. Archives archivist suggests is probably related because it appears they filed a joint tax return. Have not been able to connect Williams yet. This is the earliest record I have on Philip. Cannot identify any Meltons in the 1818 Twiggs Tax Digest. There is a name that could be Quinn Melton, but the handwriting is hard to decipher. As you probably know, Twiggs adjoins Houston County where our Baileys and Meltons moved apparently in the late 1820's. Am hoping my Baileys were with your McKinney in Edgefield District and will now check there. If you have any indication that the Baileys and Meltons were together anywhere before Twiggs I would love to have this info, because I cannot make a NC connection. Incidentally, have never been able to determine anything about Quincey Baileys death. Do not know where, when or how he was killed, or where he is buried. Have his military records that show nothing. Last record is a muster roll in 1863. If you have anything on this, let me know. 2. Ralph: Remind me - did you have a marrriage record for Quincey Bailey and Martha Melton? I have found more information on the Meltons - I am at work right now, let me try to forward what we know now on the Meltons tonight if I get home soon enough (This is a late night for us - I am office mgr for a orthopaedic surgeon and we have patients until late tonight). I would certainly think there is a circumstantial evidence in connecting Martha to my branch of the Meltons. Location, Location, Location. All for now, Trish Elliott-Kashima > Yes, see below. > > > > Have corresponded with you before. Have your message of 5/8/03. > > My Quincey P.
