    3. Hello I would like to mention, my Schofields married into the Cloud family in the mid late 1700's. Leonardo Andreas did a article on the Clouds, Nettles and Schofields of South Carolina. They were in the Fairfield County, SC area. You should check that Andreas document on this family. The Winns, Busbees, Schofields and others from these lines migrated west to Twiggs, Bibb & Houston County in the early 1800's. Some of them might have been in Washington County GA prior to Twiggs opening up, you might look there. The Bateman's were also a prominent family in Houston County, but I am not sure when they arrived there and of course, I don't know if they are your branch. I am sure you realise that the Obituary could be incorrect, it really depends on the source. Good luck with your search.
