He was married to Mary Elizabeth Miller (daughter of James Shine Miller and Elizabeth Oliver) sometime between 1850 and 1855. They had 2 children (I believe their names are Jane Elizabeth and Julia) and then he died. Mary remarried in December of 1855 to Andrew Jackson Barksdale in Dougherty County, Georgia. Mary was born in Twiggs County, GA and is on the 1850 census with her parents in that county. I believe she was married there to Stephen Harden but have not been able to find any kind of marriage record.
