    1. [GATWIGGS] DANIEL Family
    2. John R. Clarke
    3. Hi - Surnames: DANIEL, TARVER, RICHTER, WISE, RIVERS, WHITEHEAD, PERRY, PEARCE, HARDEN/HARDON, RENEAU, FLORENCE/FLOURNOY, MURPHEY As a short introduction. My GGF was Robert W. DANIEL, Esq. (1810-1865) of Bethany, Jefferson County, GA I believe his father was a brother of the Martha Julia DANIEL who married John Reason WHITEHEAD, Esq. before 1800. Robert has siblings named Sarah (married a WISE), Lucretia (married a TARVER) and James L. (married Mary MURPHEY in 1834 and an Ann before 1850 who may be a HADON/HADEN or PERRY). Robert W. DANIEL stated he was born in NC and we know he married, at least, three times. Possibly first to a Martha MURPHEY in 1836, 2nd to a Julia FLORENCE or FLOURNOY and (3rd) to my GGM, Mary Jane RENEAU (1830-1912), a daughter or Rev. Russell RENEAU, a Presiding Elder in the GA Conference of the ME Church. We also know that Robert had at least these children: Julia (born 1843), Mary (born 1848), James R. (born 1849), William Russell (born 1853) and Alice Elizabeth (born 1854). There may have been earlier children of which I am not aware. We also do not know when and where Robert died but we know he died on 23 Nov 1865, according to an entry in the Reneua-Richter Bible (c1836). We also believe the first wives of both Robert and his younger brother, James L. DANIEL (1813-before 1860), were the daughters of Rev. Nicholas MURPHEY of Richmond County, GA. The second wife of James L. DANIEL that he married before 1850 stated in her 1861 will found in the Probate Records of Jefferson County, GA that she had a sister named Marie HARDON and a bother named John PERRY. We have no other information on her. Lucretia DANIEL, Robert's sister, married a TARVER, who we think was related to the Harrison TARVER or Twiggs County. Their other sister, Sarah DANIEL, married a WISE, that some say was named Thomas C. WISE but there is no confirmation for this marriage. I do have the names of most of Lucretia's and Sarah's children. These siblings may have other brothers and sisters of which I am not aware. I do know that Robert's youngest daughter, Alice Elizabeth DANIEL (1854-1924) married my grandfather, John C. RICHTER (1848-1907) of Madison, Morgan County, GA in 1872. There are also several collateral links in this family to the RIVERS Family and one direct link to the PIERCE?PEARCE Family. . Any information is appreciated John R.
