Several years ago my great-aunt did research on our family and said we were related to Lt. Jacob Dennard of Georgia. She has since died and now no one is able to find any of her research. My great-grandfather left home when he was 12 and spoke very little about his family. He was born in about 1890 probably in the Tallahassee area. We know that between 1890 and 1913 his mother died and his father remarried. He had a sister he called "Willie" but no one knows what her full name was. Family rumor has it that his mother came from a very prominent family in Florida and that her father might have been a former FL governor. I'm pretty sure that the Lt. Jacob Dennard of Twigg County is the same one my aunt was refering too and was hoping that someone might have some information that would help me make the link. Also if anyone knows any information on Edward Dennard of Jackson County, Florida that would also be greatly appreciated since he fits the right age for my great-grandfather's father.
