Either of these men would probably be of an age to be the father of your Israel born 1817. They served under Brigadier General D. Blackshear whose family married into mine. There was a Cornelius Hollingsworth who was a trustee of Pleasant Grove Academy established in 1837, with other trustees being Richard S. Rogers, James Pearson, Abishia Andrews, and William Read. James Hollingsworth was a messenger to the Association (Bersheba Baptist Church which was constituted in 1820) with John Young, Cullen Dorman, and N. Wheeler. Mount Pleasant Church was received into the Association in 1816. Messengers were Edwin Hart, Abil Etheridge; in 1819 William Rhodes and Jesse Hollingsworth. Dissolved in 1820. C. Hollingsworth, Shff. (Sheriff?) was granted land by Tillman R. Denson on 8-1-1843 [Book D, page 357]. I hope this is helpful to you, Jim.
