Have found Hampton Lisle in 1830 Twiggs County census. By early 1830s hee was acquiring land in south Alabama. Name has been spelled Lisle, Lyles, Liles and many other names over the years. Does anyone have access or any information on Hampton or any of the Liles families in early Twiggs County GA? A book on Pea Ridge AL (Covington CO) lists Hampton as son of John, born 1755 SC, along with Sherwood/Sherrod/Sherud and Cassius. Hampton's son William L Liles/Lyles/Lisle married Martha ann Shows in Butler Co AL and is my line. I have pictures of Martha Ann, thier son Madison and his wife Sarah/Sallie Highsmith.
