Born SC, lived Twiggs before going on to Stewart Co., GA where he died. He married Sarah Collins, daughter of Joseph Collins and Nancy Conner. The children of Joseph and Nancy wee Ruth, who married Green Norris; Martha who married S. Cunningham; Mary who married W. H. Owens; Wilson who married Martha Cunningham and Sarah, who married Alexander Nelson. Joseph was a revolutionary war patriot and published accounts say that he died in Twiggs Co., at the home of his daughter. It had to be either Ruth, Martha or Mary. My Twiggs interest is a Sarah Sallie Arnold who m Daniel Girtman c 1812. She was born c 1790 and A Sarah Girtman was living in twiggs cty.(1850 Census) This from notes James I. Salt Records: Salt was given to the wives, widows, mothers of sons who were deceased soldiers of active duty in the civil war. This salt was given at a reduced price or free. This was done form 1862-1864. Hope this helps.

Coulld someone tell me wher GMD # 226 and 326 were located in Twiggs Co.? My map is a portion of twiggs and shows 1322, 356, 325, 355, Maybe someone could tell me in reference to the map that I have.
