There are Richardsons in Bibb even today. But there are a lot in south GA as well. Suggestion: Search Bibb in 1870 and 1880 census. Than work your way in a circle the same way with surrounding counties. Sometimes this is slowwww work but worth it. After the civil war, many people went west to Texas and surrounding states to "start over" so to speak. This is a hard time period just like after the American Revolution to trace families. Sorry, I can't be of much more help. betty in ga trish46@cwis.net wrote: > I am researching the Richardson family of Twiggs co. Gordon > post office census records of 1870. #485 and no. 1196. I have the census index for the entire state of Georgia for 1870. This does show age and where the individual would be found in the Georgia census for 1870. I would be glad to check this for you. Does anyone have a copy of the 1860 or 1870 Twiggs County Ga census that can do a look-up for me? Bernice
Dear Barbara, I have no idea how to extract your e-mail from the board so hope you get this. I am not kin to Francis Mercier. I do have folks in Twiggs and since it's a burned courthouse county I try to post any Twiggs info I find. My father's Allen, McMurry (ay,ey) and Woolsey lines lived in Twiggs between 1820's and 1830's. Good luck on your searches. Patti
I'm interested in the Ham and Kellys who were in Twiggs in the 1815 - 1855 timeframe.
I have a Henry J. Cranford, b. 1835, d. Sept. 06, 1908. Is this your gr grandfather?
Can anyone on this list help Barbara out with her research on Allen and Julie Wilson?
