Dear Cecil; I checked the 1805 Wilkinson County Districts that become Twiggs County in 1809 and there are no Cloud families in the area. I work a 24 hour shift tomorrow, but will go to the library on Wednesday to try and get more marriage records out of Newspaper articles and will look for your Jeremiah Cloud in anything there. If the part of Twiggs where he was from became Bibb County later, then there could be some records there. Do you know if he owned any land? Wall then m. Mary/Marion Hinson in 1850 in Twiggs Co. Thomas Chappell Reynolds, oldest son of Bethena and Robert Reynolds, m. about 1834 to Nancy Wall (they moved to Crawford Co. by the 1850 census.) Carolyn White Williams, author of History of Jones County, Georgia 1807-1907, died during the night. She was 103. While looking through my files, I also see that I have some Twiggs people that married in Bibb and Jones counties. I wonder if it would benefit anyone to know that information on those people? Maybe we could do a list for Twiggs people married In Bibb and Twiggs people married in Jones also in the future. Might be helpful for some. Just a thought. pat

I have started looking through old newspapers and books to get this database started. Gaila has sent me some marriages off of Ancestry.com and that is what has given me the idea to do this. I know that in some cases we will not be able to know the exact date the marriage took place. (But the month or just the year will be better than nothing!!!) Does anyone know where in NC many of the early settlers in Twiggs Co. (prior to 1830) came from? I am having no luck in finding parents for Gideon Allen who married Mary Horne.They were on the 1830 Twiggs census and a good many of their children were born in Twiggs. About 1845, they moved to NW LA (Bossier Par) along with other Twiggs citizens. On later census, Gideon states he was born in NC. Thanks for your help. Gail
