    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5d.2ADE/474 Message Board Post: A recent contact reported that my great-father, David Louis Phillips, died in 1924 in Twiggs County, but has not shown any documentation. David Louis Phillips, son of Daniel M. Phillips and grandson of the Reverend Richard Phillips, lived with his parents in Chattooga Co. in 1870. He moved to Texas shortly after his father's death in the early 1870's and married. He disappears between the 1910 and 1920 census. If someone can provide any information on a death and/or burial of David in Twiggs County, I would be very appreciative.

    3. Did you check the 1850 and 1860 census of Twiggs? On one census I recall seeing a Lyles male as having been in the Revolutionary War. Perhaps you could check those records or books about men listed for the Revolutionary War. good luck. betty in ga ----- Original Message ----- From: <LindaLpearson@aol.com> To: <GATWIGGS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, August 24, 2003 10:25 AM Subject: [GATWIGGS] A. Either of these men would probably be of an age to be the father of your Israel born 1817. They served under Brigadier General D. Blackshear whose family married into mine. There was a Cornelius Hollingsworth who was a trustee of Pleasant Grove Academy established in 1837, with other trustees being Richard S. Rogers, James Pearson, Abishia Andrews, and William Read. James Hollingsworth was a messenger to the Association (Bersheba Baptist Church which was constituted in 1820) with John Young, Cullen Dorman, and N. Wheeler. Mount Pleasant Church was received into the Association in 1816. Messengers were Edwin Hart, Abil Etheridge; in 1819 William Rhodes and Jesse Hollingsworth. Dissolved in 1820. C. Hollingsworth, Shff. (Sheriff?) was granted land by Tillman R. Denson on 8-1-1843 [Book D, page 357]. I hope this is helpful to you, Jim.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/5d.2ADE/468 Message Board Post: Hello all, I am looking for info on Green Hubbard born abt 1826 in Al. and his wife Eveline A. [unknown] Hubbard, born btw 1830 -1833 in Ga. both of her parents were born in Ga. My first Hubbard seems to fit in this family. Who were Eveline A.'s people in Ga.? What was her maiden name? WHo were Green's people? What Hubbard line does he came from? My first HUBBARD is Louisa Evelyn "Eva / Evie" HUBBARD B. 24 Mar 1863, Mississippi D. 26 Mar 1931, Dry Creek, Hardin Co., Tennessee She married - 7 Jul 1891 (marriage recorded by Rev.Lee - Louisa Hubbard and Isaac Stout, 7 Jul 1891) Issac "Ike" STOUT B. 7 Jan 1866, Tennessee D. 12 Mar 1939 Eva's siblings that we have always know abt were: Dan Barnie Bob Jack Cora Amie I have been told Eva's father was called Tom. I while back I was sent a transcript of Tishomingo County Mississippi census' 1870 and 1880. On them are listed a family that fit's mine, as far as the siblings names. The Census' gave the mother as........... Evelyn HUBBARD and Eviline A. HUBBARD born in Ga. both parents born in Ga. In 1870 she was 40, she was wife of Green, in 1880 she is widowed. The father as........... Green F. HUBBARD born in Al. In 1870 he was 44 Not listed on the 1880 census. The one I beleive is my Eva is listed as................. Louisa - In 1880 she was 19 (was not on 1870) Her sibling are list as.................... (as I have the names- names as on census) Dan - no Dan or Dan---- type name listed on either Barnie - Milton B. in 1870 he was 16, and Barnett M. in 1880 is 27 a teacher. (is on 1870 and 1880) Bob - Robert Lee - In 1880 he was 17. (was not on 1870) Jack - Jack Sleeth - In 1880 he was 13. (was not on 1870) Cora - Cora- In 1870 she was 3, in 1880 she is listed as 15. (is on 1870 and 1880) Amie - Nancy A. - In 1870 she was listed as 13. In 1880 she was Amelia Ross, 21, (married to Issac Ross 27 born Ga.) Issac Ross 27 born Ga. in 1880 is listed a Son in law As you see there was no Dan but the census listed 2 other males, 1.) Issac C. HUBBARD, In 1870 he was 14 in 1880 he was 23. 2.) Georgie HUBBARD, In 1880 he was 5. Lssac is listed as the son of Green and Evelyn. Was the D. miss read as as C. ????? In 1880 he is listed as a teacher, son of Eveline Hubbard. Barrnet M. Is also listed as a teacher, son of Eveline Hubbard. In 1880 Goergie is listed as the son of Eveline Hubbard, widow. Was he Dan, could have been Daniel George, or George Daniel, maybe? Several of the children who were over 10 years old and listed as Dau./Son's of Eveline Hubbard, widow, in 1880 were not in the household in 1870. So where were they? Are they actually the children of Green and Eveline, or are they the children of a sibling who died and they took the kids in? That would explain the Tom? Or? Or? Or? Or? Was his name Thomas Green or Green Thomas, is the F. actually a T. on the 1870 census? Anyway I am begining to believe these are my people, even more so because my Greatgrandma Eva and Greatgrandpa Ike named my Grandpa Green ;^) But I do not know why everyone in Hardin county Tn thought Eva's father was" Tom, a Preacher man"???? My distant cousin has interviewed 100's of the old timers there in Hardin Co. the last 30 years or so doing Genealogial of the area familys and this is what he has been told "Evie Hubbard Stout 's daddy was " Tom, a Preacher man"." My cousin was born there, and lives just over the ridge from the "Old Homestead" were Ike and Eva lived and died. He grew up with these folk, too. <shaking head> I'm confussed ;^) <shaking head> LOL Does any of this fit with anyone? Any help is greatly appreciated!
