Thank you for the bit of history. This brings your area more to life for me. What I am wondering is if anyone might have maps of the area from the Civil War period? Or point me in a direction. I would be interested in state, county, town city limit lines. Since my family seems to have traversed the area from Columbus to Tuskegee before, during, and after the CIvil War I would like a map to bring closer to home what was there and was going on. It might give me a much better idea about their lifestyles and why they might move around so much. It also might help me to picture why my people eventually went to Texas.
