Just a couple questions I hope you all can help me with. I've been away from Troup County for a long time and I'm pretty rusty on the resources there. I have a copy (from my grandmother) of Clifford Smith's History of Troup County (1933). Lynda mentioned just receiving Vol I & II of History of Troup County. Then I see at the Troup County Archives web site that F.C. Johnson has published Histories of Troup County Vol I & III (by the way, what happended to Vol II?). This is getting confusing! Could someome please explain all this to me? And Carole, when you sent out your info from Troup County history, which book did it come from? Also, I see at the Archives' web site that there is a Troup County Cemetries book available. Is this just a book version of the cemetary records on-line at the archives' site? Maybe a bibliography of Troup County printed resources would be a good idea to send out (much like the County information Hilda sent out earlier). I have Research in Georgia compiled by Robert Scott Davis, Jr published in 1981 which I'm sure is really out of date (although it was invaluable to me when it first came out). I know we are all searching and it would help to have a better understanding of the available resources. I haven't had time to search to see if there is a library in LaGrange that has an on-line catalog. I know the public libraries in Maryland are on-line which has helped me a lot in my research on my Maryland family lines. Thanks for all your help! Cindy P.S. I have a copy of the Early Marriages in Troup County book. Does anyone have PEOPLE OF ANTEBELLUM TROUP COUNTY, GA. by F.C. Johnson, III or ESTATE RECORDS OF TROUP COUNTY, GEORGIA, 1827-1850, compiled by Randall Allen and Danny Knight? (I used to subscribe to the Troup County genealogy magazine/newsletter that Danny Knight published a long time ago!!)? These books look interesing to me and I was wondering if they are useful.
