HA!! Must be about the same age. Well I was a teenager in the late 60's anyway. Hey, ya know what? Strange as it may seem I am actually talkking with someone who was alive when men landed on the moon. I know it sounds stupid but, do you know how many people I talk to each day who weren't alive then? Sounds like we just might be onto something here. Felix McManus is the name I am looking for. I know he married Mary Virginia KELLY arouned 1868 and moved to Montgomery, AL. SHe died around 1878 leaving two children. I have seen his name in the 1850 Montgomery County Census as being 7, so figure 1843 is birth year. Mary was born around 1845 according to the Muscogee Georgia 1850 Census. I again found him only with two children and a new wife in the 1880 Montgomery COunty AL Census....well I didn't someone who did lookups did anyway. We just figure the two children were Mary's. They were old enough to be born around 1870 and 1872 or so. Lucille is definitely a family name from way back. Anna is also but, not Annabelle. Caroline KELLY (Carrie) was born in 1849 GA. She married Jowel (Joel) Walker and As I said I have a reference they lived in West Point. I know they married around 1870 or so, she died in 1880 and left a couple kids. I had the snail mail address to a woman in MI or WI who was researching WALKERS from Troup County and West Point area during this period. I wrote to her but, she never wrote back.... THis is actually all I have. I have the two girls parents names and years of birth according to the 1850 GA Census from Columbus and Muscogee County. I know the two parents were married in Muscogee County in 1842 according to the Marriage Books A and B....but, I have the 1840 Muscogee County Census and no John W. KELLY. If he was a steamboat pilot during this time also he may have also been in Russell County, AL where in 1843 my g-g-grandfather was born. THink I will order that 1840 Census next. Now that is an idea..... Well not much else....Maybe you can help me connect somewhere along the line... Oh by the way, figure we should sen this stuff throught the list since you never know who else is lurking in the background wondering if maybe they have a McManus, Kelly, Walker, et.al.... Her father was Durell McManus he died a few years ago. She has an uncle name J R who collects clocks. I use to love to go to his house with her and see all the clocks. I think there was four brothers and all were quite good basketball players, the were well known in town. > > My mother owned one of the local Beauty shops and my life was very much like the movie Steel Magnolias. I could put a different name to every character in that movie. Another good example of the life in Lagrange is the movie Norma Rae, it was filmed in LaGrange and West Point. I lived in Texas at the time it was released and got so homesick. > > > > Sorry about my big blunder, I saw your post hit the web site at the bottom the hit reply and wrote to you. I want our list to one of the best on the board. Like you I am a member of several, and they do come an go. The Kilgore board is one of the most active on the net. It is like one big happy family. I recently went to the digest mode, Jerry has it set up where you have to be invited to join, so I think I am going to write him and ask him to but me back in the list mode. I miss the gang > > I have the clay county cemeterary book, the LaGrange one and a couple of other in Clay County. The Walker name is really big in my Kilgore line. Simeon Walker Kilgore is the line I am from and no one's knows where the Walker started from. Any ideas on that subject. > > Hilda
