    3. Hello, I am enjoying the new Troup List, and appreciate such an enthusiastic and contributory listowner as Hilda. Thanks. I have WILKERSON in Troup County. I am particularly interested in an ABLE/ABEL WILKERSON, who won land there in the 1827 Lottery. Abel is found in Putnam and Irwin County, before he moved to Troup. He is on the 1830 and 1840 Troup Co. Census. I did some research at the Archives there and found several deeds for Abel, one of which listed him as a resident of Tallapoosa County AL, dated 1842. Other names on these deeds as witnesses or participants are: Asa BENNETT, Edmund CARLISLE, HOGG, SAXON, IRWIN WILKERSON, HARRISON S. WILKERSON. (By the way, I have transcribed these deeds, and will gladly share if anyone is interested). Abel is the son of HAMMON WILKERSON. The children of Hammon are: John Wilkerson b. 1777 Elijah Wilkerson b. 1778 William Wilkerson b. 1779 Abel Wilkerson b. 1780 Reuben Wilkerson b. 1781 Frances Wilkerson Zarah Wilkerson b. 1783 Lemuel Wilkerson b 1784 Caleb Wilkerson b. 1785 Jeptha Wilkerson b. 1792 Eldred Wilkerson b. 1796 Simeon Wilkerson b. 1798 I realize this is a lengthy message, but am interested in any Wilkerson connection to any of these. Thanks, Karen Wilkerson Robinson karenr@c-gate.net
