HI, Hilda and All, If I understand your message re new subscribers, the Troup list is now "by invitation only," as you stated no one would be able to subscribe themselves any longer but would be hand subscribed when their address was submitted by another list member. Am I understanding this correctly? If I am, it strikes me as a tad elitist and has the definite potential of limited the usefulness of the list. Please clarify why you are making this policy change. Confess I'm a little naive. From what danger are you trying to protect us? You also seem worried that people have joined the list and not yet posted a message. Another list I'm on actually encourages the new subscriber to "lurk" (their wording, not mine) for a while and see how the list works before posting. Want to add my thanks to those of others. This list has already netted me considerable help, and I appreciate all the time and effort it takes to keep it running smoothly.
