    3. That's the way it works. One thing I learned last night that has always puzzled me and another one on this list, is that sometimes you will find yourself unscribed from a list and not even know it. The reason this is that rootsweb is managed by smart list. Smart list will bounce messages that have incorrect mailboxes addresses, as I am sure many of you have had them returned to you and not know why. Each list owner sets amount of bounces it will accept before smart list rejects that address. If you go away an your mailbox fills up (most will hold 200 around messages) smartlist will bounce you from the list. When an address is bounced I get a copy of the bounced message. Six people gone away mailboxed filled 36 messages to me that they are bouncing, Plus the posts to the board can very quickly fill up mine). We have had two to request to join that have been bounced by smart list. I cannot reach them by email because of an error in typing their address. (If someone evers tell you that they tried to get on but didn't make it please ask them to check the way they typed their return address). If you come home one day and you have been bounced, just drop me a line and let me know. Smartlist does not tell you that you have been bounded, only when you unsubscribe will you be notified that you have left the list. If you are going to be gone a few days and are a member of a several lists then change to the digest mode, it helps to keep from being bumped. Or post a note to the board, that you are working on a project and will be away from the computer a few days. That alerts me that you still want to be here and if your are bounced I will put you right back on. Hope this explains bouncing a little better. Hilda
