Mina, Thanks for your message and the address for your daughter. I don't seem to have a Nancy Jones in my file but will be happy to keep a lookout for her in my research. My Greens were in Wilkes, Jasper and Monroe Counties of GA. I did see on another site (http://www.familysearch.org/default.asp) that your Elizabeth was born 7-7-1829 in Morgan, GA and Tabitha was born 12-14-1804 in Greene Co., GA. As far as I know they do not connect to my line. I have William Green, Wilkes Co >George Green, Jasper County b 1786>John William Green, Monroe County b 1810>Daniel Hunter Green Thanks again for your message, Joan Green -----Original Message----- From: Mina M Bickerstaff [mailto:minamb@juno.com] Sent: Sunday, April 18, 1999 10:35 PM To: GATROUP-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [GATROUP-L] JAMES JONES/JOHN BURKS My daughter has researched the Burks line for several years. Her paternal grandmother is a descendant of Frances L. Wofford and Abel Robinson Burks, son of James Lyon Burks who was thought to be the grandson of John Peartree Burks. She is not online but might be able to give you some information. Gayle is not doing a lot of genealogy research at this time because of the heavy demands of raising three children ages 17, 14, and 3 1/2, and keeping up with a husband. She also works part time. I do not show any of the Burks names that you mention in your query in my database. But I know that Gayle has entered new data over the years, and they might be in her information. I am also interested in the Jones information since my mother's gg grandmother was Nancy Jones who married Pleasant Pressley Wright, son of Nathaniel Wright and Elizabeth Cockerham (Nathaniel's first wife). We have no other information on Nancy Jones. I believe the Wrights originally came from Lunenberg Co., VA, moved on to Abbeville Co., SC and then to Lincoln Co., GA where Nathaniel died. Another of my mother's gg grandparents was Joseph H. Greene who married Tabitha Whatley in Green Co., GA Dec. 4, 1804 in Greene Co., GA. Later moved to Troup Co., GA after he drew land in the 1825 Georgia Land Lottery. Both were born abt 1785 according to the census records. No exact death dates, but it appears that Tabitha Whatley Green died sometime after 1850. Their daughter, Elizabeth Greene, married George H. Crawley in Troup Co., GA and later moved to Randolph Co., AL. We have other information on parents or siblings of Joseph H. Greene or Tabitha Whatley. I thought of this when I saw your Green surname. My daughter's address is: M. Gayle Bickerstaff Basaldu, 9800 County Road 915A, Joshua, TX 76058. On Sun, 18 Apr 1999 10:01:52 -0400 "jtgen" <jtgen@mindspring.com> writes: >Hello everyone.
