I have to write and let ya'll know what a wonderful resource Troup Co., GA has, I'm sure many of you know about it, but some may not. It is the archives at http:lagrangenews.com. Once there, click on "History" on the left. After that page loads, scroll down and click on "Archives". You will find many useful things there, but also they will do a brief (30 minute) search of Troup County and Western GA without charge. I recently wrote to them asking about relatives in Troup Co., and here is a copy of what I got back.... including this so it might help fellow researchers... *************** Dear Mrs. Melvin: We have a good bit on the family you mentioned. These are my great-grandparents and my great-great grandmother. I knew they were in LaGrange, but didn't know their birth/death dates for sure.. I think I have found them in your cemetery database.. This is a great service you have. Even if you can't find the obituaries, just knowing where they are buried is a fantastic start. Happy Holidays :) LisaTM@aol.com > > > > Sincerely, Kaye Lanning Minchew, Troup County (GA) Archives http://www.lgc.peachnet.edu/archives/tcarchiv.htm ************* Sorry for the long post.
