    2. I looked in my data base and did not see a Sarah associated with any of my three Riley Truitts, with the exception of Sarah C. Truitt, b. 1831, so that would not have been yours. Try the web site which Larry Truitt has 6000 family members named: www.familytreemaker.com/users/t/r/u/Larry-G-Truitt/index.htm or go into www.familytreemaker.com - then choose Home Page - the T and you will find him down the page - Larry G. Kirk, wife of Henry D. Kirk, and only daughter of Benjamin F. and R. M. Carter, was born September 10, 1838, in Putnam County, Georgia, and died at her residence, in Troup County, Ga., May 12, 1886, aged forty seven years, eight months and two days. From the best evidence we can gather, she obtained a good hope in Christ some time during the year 1866. In the year 1867 she went to the Church at County Line, Heard County, Ga., and related the dealings of the Lord with her, and was received into full fellowship and was baptized by Elder H. S. Burson. From the day of her identity with the church, until death put an end to her earthly pilgrimage, she lived in fellowship and dear esteem with her church and all the dear laity who knew her. She indeed had that inward adorning of a meek amd lowly Spirit, which in the sight of God is of great price. She was not only a professor of the religion of Jesus, but a doer of the work; manifesting daily her faith by her works, n! > ever ceasing when in her power to administer to suffering humanity. She was truly a nurse to the sick, and a true friend to the poor and needy. In the death of Sister Kirk society has lost one of its most precious jewells, her children a loving mother, and the church at County Line a devoted member. But blessed be the name of the Lord, she is sweetly resting in Jesus from all her labors and her good works are folllowing her. She died in the triumph of a living faith in Jesus. She leaves an aged father and mother, six children, together with many relatives and friends, to mourn her loss. May the Lord bless the bereaved is the desire of A. B. Whatley > Hogansville, Ga. 1. [GATROUP-L] Interesting info
    2. David W. Morgan
    3. Folks, this has been an eventful year, and I have really enjoyed getting back into genealogy, after many years away. This mail list and the web site are provided to us for free, courtesy of Rootsweb, meaning most of the bills are paid out of the pocket of Brian Leverich and Karen Isaacson. If you have $12 you can spare, or $24, or even $50, it will help Rootsweb continue to grow and provide us with even more space and goodies. That $50 for one year gets you a web site on Rootsweb with 25 megabytes of space. Or for just $12 a year you can get one mail list, (want one for your favorite surname?) and seven GenConnect boards where you can post queries, obits, wills, deeds, etc. Here are the new surname lists that someone else has already chosen. Some of them don't work yet. I tried the Coker and Posey lists, and they work, but the Markham list doesn't work yet. The GenConnect team is on vacation until the 28th. When they come back, I hope to get a couple of surname lists of my own. GENCONNECT ANNOUNCES NEW SURNAME BOARDS. Pam Carey Durstock <durp@one.net> provided the following information. Last week RootsWeb announced the availability of GenConnect surname boards as a new benefit offered to Sponsors and Donors. Please visit <http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/sponsors.html>. If you are not familiar with GenConnect, please visit <http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/index.html> and the surname index at <http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/indx/FamAssoc.html>. Link to GenConnect Fun Facts at <http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/stats.html>. Since last week's announcement 1,550 new surname boards have come online for 424 surnames (each surname can have up to seven board types -- queries, Bible records, biographies, deeds, obituaries, pensions, and wills). Please visit the boards for your favorite surnames. If you post some data while you are there, the whole genealogical community will benefit. Here is a list of GenConnect surname boards as of 19 December. (N.B.: The URL for surname boards beginning with A is <http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/index/Surnames/A.html>. For surname boards beginning with another letter, simply substitute another letter for the A in the URL.) 3. I have Crenshaw ancestors in Cobb County in 1830 and 1840--Nathanial Crenshaw and his wife, Sophia Lenderman, and their son William Crenshaw and his wife Matilda Landers. The family came to Georgia from the Pendleton District in South Carolina. Nathaniel was the son of Jesse Crenshaw. The Cobb County Crenshaws moved on to Marshall County, Mississippi, in the 1840's. Does any of this connect to your Crenshaws in Troup County? I am also descended from Brazells and Scoggins families in Troup County. Jane Brazell Sisolak Fort Worth, TX
