    3. I am looking for information on James B ESTES and Lucy (FULLER) ESTES and their children. They were married in Granville, NC in 1813 and moved to Troup Co late 1820's. Known children were: 1. David ESTES b 1818 in NC and married Elizabeth Ann CALDWELL in Troup Co in 1839, but lived most of their married life in Meriwether Co. They had 11 children. 2. John W ESTES b 1819 in NC and married 1st Martha Frances ROBERTS in 1842. 2nd Martha Frances ROBERTS in 1854. (She was the niece and name sake of his 1st wife) 3rd Irene Elizabeth "Lizzie" MILLER in 1873. He had a total of 14 children by his three wives. ( 4-9-1) 3. Nathaniel ESTES b abt 1827 probably in GA and died abt 1863 in LA during CW. He is believed to have never married. 4. Caroline ESTES b ? married Larkin WALKER in 1838. They died in Carroll Co., GA Pennie Estes that married a FULLER is believed to be James and Lucy's child, but no documented proof. There was also a Kimbrel ESTES b abt 1815 in NC that had a close connection to James B ESTES. James witnessed many of the legal papers for Kimbrel. Kimbrel's wife Rebecca CALDWELL was the sister of Elizabeth (CALDWELL) ESTES, David's wife. Kimbrel & Rebecca had children named James, John W and Lucy. David had a son named Kimbal. Was this just a coincidence or was there a family connection? Any help with this family will be greatly appreciated. I am willing to exchange information. Doris Estes Robbins drobbin6@bellsouth.net

    3. My great great grandparents were Allen GATES born abt 1775 NC and married to Ann C.THOMPSON born abt 1790 NC. One of their children were Julia Margaret GATES HOOSER WYATT born 28 July 1817 (we think in Linden,Perry Co., TN) and died 2 Jan 1888. Julia was 1st married to Alexander HOOSER born abt 1814 died 26 May 1846 (we think in Linden, Perry Co., TN.) Julia married Alexander HOOSER 23 Aug 1838 in Marshall, TN. Julia's 2nd marriage was to Abraham WYATT abt 1848 (we think in Linden, Perry Co., TN). Julia and Abraham WYATT are buried in Jenkins Springs Cemetery in Brownwood, Brown Co., Texas. Julia's daughter Mary Ann Elizabeth HOOSER DAY is my great grandmother. Mary Ann Elizabeth HOOSER DAY was born 13 Jan 1841 in Linden, Perry Co., TN and died 14 Dec 1928. Mary married William Johnson DAY 26 Jan 1860 at Valley Mills, McLennan Co., Texas. William Johnson DAY is my direct line. He was born 18 Nov 1828 in GA and both died in Delaware Switch, Brownwood, Brown Co., Texas. We do know that some of these families came from LaGrange, Troup Co., GA to Upshur Co., Texas about 1853. William Johnson's parents are Moses and Celia REYNOLDS DAY. We believe that both are buried somewhere in Upshur. 1. [GATROUP] Owen, Rutledge, Lumpkin,
    2. Hi Tonya, Re: Owen surname in Troup Co, GA I have an Owen connection in Troup/Greene/Wilkes (GA) but can't help with yours--yet! My Thomas Owen b. 3/19/1730 in Goochland VA seems to have been in Wilkes Co, GA very early (1773) . I can't tell exactly when or where but by 1780s he owned land around Wilkes and Greene. He died in Greene Co in 1805. I need a list of his children! Is there a will? His daughter Ann Owen married James Rutledge. James Rutledge had several dealings with a Glenn & George Owen in the late 1700's in Wilkes. James died in 1824 in Wilkes, but wife Ann Owen Rutledge died in Troup Co. I don't know why she went to Troup but am guessing she had family there... Owen or Rutledge? Also connected with this group are Lumpkin, Echols, Glass, Shearer, Duke, Partridge. Lots of records in Wilkes Co on these people but I want to connect the dots! What records are available in Troup? In Greene? I'd love to hear from anyone with info on these people in the late 1700's! Cyndi in Baltimore Please forgive the multiple post

James WILLSON (WILSON) born 25 Nov 1784 in GA or SC and died 24 Aug 1880 maybe in Carrol Co, GA. He was married to Sarah CAMERON on 11 May 1830 in Jasper Co, GA. I found reference of a James WILLSON who married folks in Troup in the 1850's. James may have been a preacher. Benjamin H. WILLSON (WILSON) born 11 Jan 1790 in SC or GA and died 5 Apr 1849 in Coosa or Tallapoosa Co, AL. He was married to Susannah CAMERON, sister to Sarah. I also found reference that a Benjamin H WILSON married folks in Tallapoosa Co, AL in the late 1830s and 1840s. Three of Benjamin's son (Benjamin F, John G, and Thomas H) were living in Tallapoosa Co in the 1850 census. Their mother Susannah was living with B.F. B.H. and Susannah's children were: Sarah Ann b 1816, Robert b 1817, Virginia Emeline b 1818, John G. b 1820, Nelson b 1824, Benjamin Franklin b 1826, Thomas H b 1828, and Susan E b 1829. Does anyone have info or leads about this group of people? Any records to be found or had concerning preachers in this area during these times? The final resting place of B.H., either Coosa or Tallapoosa Cos? Thanks again folks and good luck and good hunting in your researches...john lowery
