He died in 1932 when my father was only 6 weeks old. Grandfather was attempting to arrest some men on gambling charges. He was serving as bailiff in Baker Co., Ga. He and another officer were sitting in their vehicle in front of the house where the men were gambling. The men in the house opened fire and shot my grandfather 13 times.
