    3. In a 2001 posting, I found the following message from Toni Allen: My profound thanks to Richard White and Allen Singleton! You both have given me a lot of information on Georgia troops in the Civil war. In answer to Allen's question, my cousin was Daniel A. Horn who was born in NC in 1818, and died in Boston, Thomas Co., Ga. in 1891. In 1855 he married my great grandfather's sister, Isabella Jane Hunter McLeod in Marlboro Co., SC, and they were on the 1860 census living in Thomasville, Ga. (The 1870 and 1880 showed Boston, Ga.) I am trying to establish any connection between this Daniel A (Alexander) Horn and my grandfather, Daniel Alexander Horn who was born in May, 1891 in South Carolina. He is recorded in the 1900 Georgia Census as part of a family of 5 including Annie B (Annabel), Vernon L (female), and Roy D. He later emigrated to Ohio and then Pennsylvania, where he is recorded in 1930 as having married Esther May Keneipp, my grandmother. In the 1860 US census, his father's first name looks like Mac or Mar (only 3 letters) Horn -- born 1851 in SC and his mother is listed as Lizzie, born in Georgia in 1851. The family lore from my mother was that we were (1) related to Isabella McLeod (2) that Honoria Sneed/Snead figured in the family legends somehow, and (3) I had 4 uncles who died at the battle of Chancellorsville. Any insights are welcome. I would be interested in being pointed to a history of the McLeods of SC, if that work has been published (saw it on a Horn/Van Horne list with the same genealogical info for the older DA Horn. Thanks in advance, Kate McCain
