This was done in Dougherty County. In the application she states that she is the only living relative and that he was her uncle. She also stated that he lived in Dougherty County at the time of his death in 1870. Well she was wrong on all three statements. He had four living children and a wife and in 1916 many grandchildren. Dr Scott was also living in Thomas County in 1870 and estranged from his wife and children who lived in Albany, Dougherty County, Georgia. Dr Scott was the son of John Scott b. 1805 Georgia who died in Thomasville about August 1854. John Scott owned a livery stable at the corner of Broad and Jefferson Sts. His two daughters married prominent citizens a few years later , another son was a Lawyer and his second wife and stepdaughters lived in Thomasville. What I am puzzled about is the Hall family connection. I haven't been ! able to find any Halls in my research and wondered who Mary Hall is. Any help from Hall researchers would be greatly appreciated.
