I believe John S. Bodiford was the son of John Bodiford and Mary Ann. John Bodiford was born 1782 in NC and Mary Ann was born 1788 in NC. Found in the 1850 Georgia Census. There are two small children living in the household that are too young to belong to John. Maybe grandchildren? The children were born in Georgia: Midiann E. Bodiford age 8 years (female) and Frances age 1 year (female). John can read and write. His occupation is farmer. He is living next door to his son John S. Bodiford. John and Mary Ann have 3 children: John S. Bodiford, Beady Ann Bodiford born 1788 NC and Moses C. Bodiford born July 11, 1829. Moses is a farmer. He cannot read or write. Moses died March 26, 1884 and is buried in the Long Branch Cemetery Cairo, GA. He married N. A. (last name unknown) She was born in 1833. They had 3 children: Mary A. Bodiford born 1853, J. A. Bodiford born 1855 and C. J. Bodiford born 1860. I have more on the Bodi! fords that went to Calhoun County.
